Tar Heel Traveler Eats : Food Journeys across North Carolina (149300638X)

Scott Mason is the Tar Heel Traveler and he loves to eat hot dogs, cheeseburgers, barbecue, biscuits, and ice cream served in crumbling cinder-block buildings and ramshackle dives along the back roads of North Carolina. As a full-time feature reporter for WRAL-TV in Raleigh since 2007, Scott has discovered that North Carolina is filled with many amusing characters and out-of-the-way places, all of which are part of his Tar Heel Traveler television segment that airs Monday through Thursday on WRAL's 5:30 pm newscast. The most popular stories are always about the hole-in-the-wall hot dog dives, cheeseburger joints, barbecue places, and ice cream parlors he has visited. He has featured dozens of such places on TV and now on paper he expands each story. Studienarbeit aus dem Jahr 2017 im Fachbereich Germanistik - Gattungen, Note: 13 Punkte, Justus-Liebig-Universität Gießen, Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Die vorliegende Arbeit widmet sich dem seit den 90er Jahren anwachsenden Trend zur All-Age-Literatur, welcher sich in den Bestsellerlisten abzeichnet. Unter den 25 meist verkauften Hardcover-Romanen der letzten zehn Jahre (Stand 2016) finden sich immerhin zwölf, die der All-Age-Literatur zugerechnet werden. Ausgehend von der Feststellung, dass sich Kinder- und Jugendliteratur im Bezug auf die verwendeten Darstellungsweisen der Erwachsenenliteratur signifikant angenähert hat, kommt den in der KJL anzutreffenden Formen von Adaption eine wichtige Bedeutung für die textinterne Unterscheidung der für Kinder und Jugendliche geschriebenen Texte (spezifische KJL) von denen für Erwachsene zu. Nun stellt sich die Frage, wie es um die Formen und Grade von Adaption in All-Age-Literatur bestellt ist, ob diese also einen Einfluss darauf besitzen, dass die Rezeption durch eine hinsichtlich des Alters heterogene Leserschaft Begünstigung erfährt. Als Musterbeispiel für die Untersuchung der Mittel von Adaption in All-Age-Romanen wird Joanne K. Rowlings Harry Potter herangezogen, da dieser weithin als Ausgangspunkt des allseitigen Interesses am Phänomen All-Age gilt.
